Frequently Asked Questions

Does The Sassafras Gallery provide framing services?

I don’t directly offer framing services but am happy to work with you to find a local framer and even help you pick out the specific frame. If you are interested in framing your purchase, please  email me for assistance.

How do you create the images you sell?

I start with a visually appealing photo; in most cases that photo is either free for use on the Public Domain or one that I have purchased a commercial license to use. I also entertain commission projects for individuals who have their own photos available. I work with each photo using filters I have created in a combination of graphic art applications to “paint” a reproduction of that image. Please contact me if you are interested in a custom design.

How do you handle custom design requests?

If you have a photo that you’d like to use, please reach out using the Custom Design section at the bottom of my contact page. Provide as many details as possible regarding color, style, size, etc. Upon receipt of your inquiry I will contact you to request a copy of your photo, and will have a proof ready for you to review within 1 business day. I will make changes until you’re completely satisfied with the proof, at which time I will submit the design for printing. Your design will only be available for you to purchase; however I may request authorization from you to use your design in my portfolio, which you are under no obligation to provide.

Do you have all of the images on your website in stock?

All items are custom printed once they have been ordered. I do not keep any images or art in stock.

Will my finished canvas look like the image on my computer screen?

Every device screen displays images differently; the colors shown on your monitor may be close to what is printed, but I cannot guarantee a perfect match. I recommend soft-proofing with Adobe RGB 1998 to closely match what I see on my end.

How do I clean my canvas?

The canvases are quite durable and should resist most scratches, smudges, fingerprints, etc. You can dust canvases with a soft, dry cloth. If your canvas is damaged and needs deeper cleaning you may try a damp cloth. If the canvas gets nicked and loses ink in a certain areas it can be touched up with felt-tip markers or paint.

Are the canvases available in other sizes?

All of the images in the gallery can be printed in a variety of sizes beyond those offered. Please contact me for information regarding custom sizes and pricing.

Once I purchase a piece of art, how many days will it take to arrive?

Orders are typically shipped within 7 to 10 business days. Once your artwork is shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number; my Shipping policy includes additional information you may find helpful. Please email me with any questions or concerns.

How do I know you received my order, and how do I obtain a receipt?

Once you have submitted your order, an order confirmation containing your order number, final order total, billing and shipping information will be sent to the email address you provide during checkout. If you do not receive this confirmation, please email me and I will provide it to you.

May I make a correction to my order after it has been submitted?

Since most orders are transmitted to production immediately upon submission, it is generally impossible to make corrections or changes once the order is submitted. If you have just placed your order, please email me and I will attempt to make your requested changes.

How do I check the status of my order?

You will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail with tracking information as soon as your product(s) have shipped. You may click on the tracking number in the e-mail to view transit details. Please note that orders with multiple items may require multiple shipments so you can expect more than one shipping confirmation e-mail. You can also check on your order anytime by clicking the “Order Tracking” link below and entering your order number and e-mail address.
